Only for You by Tista Ray

The Book
Release Date: 18 February 2014

It is said that people’s lives are tales of two great journeys - the pursuit of happiness and the search for true love.

Edward seems to have achieved one of these ultimate goals by falling in love with Daisy.

But in his quest for true love, will he be willing to let go of his one special friend, and perhaps, sacrifice his chance for happiness?

If there’s a choice between love and friendship, will Edward sacrifice one for the other? Will he be able to live with his choice and never ask himself what if he chose the other?

My Opinion  1 STAR

Oh Dear, where do I start.  This book took me a few attempts to get through it, picking it up and putting it down.

The write up for this book was intriguing and the only good part of this book was that it was from the male perspective, which was refreshing, however i think that was the only bit I liked.

Unfortunately, sometimes you can tell from the first page that you are going to struggle with a book, and unfortunately, that happened in this case.  I did make myself read all of it as I feel I hate not being able to finish a book.  Unfortunately I found myself keep checking to see how much longer I had left to read.

The book annoyed my on so many levels.  First Edwards inner dialogue was completely annoying and irritating.  It just made him look unappealing.

All of the characters had no depth to them and did not process as the book went on, they also were completely immature and one minute they were talking, the next they were shouting at each other.  None of the emotions flowed well and it felt clunky and awkward to read.

I could not connect to any other the characters, even the girls were awkward to read about.  The last chapter was from Ady's POV and was put in via song/verse and really added nothing the the story.

This was a very disappointing read for me, especially when the write up had it sounding so promising.
