Bedding the Wrong Brother (Dalton Brothers 1) - Virna DePaul

The Book
Release Date: 15 December 2010

Melina Parker has always excelled in two things: research followed by hands-on application. She prides herself on being a lady in public, but after she's dumped yet again for being a lady in the bedroom, she's ready to go back to school.

Determined to find her inner sex diva, she enlists her childhood friend, Max Dalton, to tutor her after hours. Instead, she ends up in the wrong bed and gets a lesson in passion from Max's twin brother, Rhys Dalton, a man Melina's always secretly wanted but never thought she could have.

Despite craving the occasional adventure, Melina's a small-town girl who wants roots and a family. Rhys and Max, on the other hand, are celebrities who travel from one city to another, changing bed partners as easily as plane flights. Rhys is outwardly the more reserved of the two but, unable to believe his good luck when he finds Melina waiting for him, he gives Melina her first taste of multiples right out the gate. Come morning, she's so mortified that she threw herself at Rhys that she blurts out the truth about her tutoring experiment. Not about to let her get away from him, Rhys convinces Melina that when it comes to sexual lessons, he's more than man enough for the job. His biggest challenge is teaching Melina that when it comes to pleasure, the key to his own is hers.

Can a woman who's always longed for hearth and home find satisfaction with a man whose entire life has been about moving on to the next big thing?

Melina grew up best friends with a pair of twins, Rhys and Max. She had a major crush on Rhys and she was one of the only ones who could tell the twins apart. She NEVER got them mixed up however hard they tried to trick her.

On her sweet sixteenth she ended up waiting for an hour for Rhys but got told he was held up with another girl, where-upon in her upset and tears she had her first kiss with Max as a pity kiss. This kept both Rhys and Melina telling each other what they really thought of each other.

After another non successful relationship where she was slammed in the bedroom, Melina decides that she needs to have lessons and asked Max to help her as for the last two years things have been strained with Rhys.

Max decides to finally intercede and while Melina is waiting for him in a hotel room, he gets Rhys to go instead, except he doesn't tell either party and Melina is not wearing her glasses and is slightly tipsy.

The next day after some embarrassment from Melina they decide to spend the weekend together in order that she can continue her lessons. At times we find Melina feeling empowered and at other times shy about her appearance and if she is really what Rhys would want as a woman.

Both Rhys and Melina find themselves sexually compatible and comfortable around each other. Each however wonder how they would work permanently as they lead very different lives. Him on the road with his magic show with his brother and Melina with her work with bugs and insects.

A problem with the magic show gives Melina a chance to see what they are like on show and to participate in one of their tricks. But after seeing the other two woman that help are topless, she feels even more insecure. She tries something out but it kinda backfires and as Rhys and her are talking it out Max comes in to say the trick has been destroyed.

Knowing that she is no longer needed she flees, but can't stop thinking about Rhys. A call from her mum and Rhys, and looking back at photo's from growing up with the boys brings everything into focus. Knowing what she has to do she goes out and makes the big gesture in front of one of the audiences.

It really is a sweet friends to lovers story that sweeps you up with the story, leaving you both grinning and crying. Loved it.
