Accidental Cowgirl: A Loveswept Contemporary Romance - Maggie McGinnis

The Book
Release Date: 8 October 2013

In her Loveswept debut, Maggie McGinnis tells the tale of a city girl who’s running on fumes—and the cowboy who shows her all the good things she’s been missing.

After being betrayed by her con man ex-fiancé, Kyla Bennett nurses a broken heart. But Kyla's friends have other ideas and when they whisk her off to Whisper Creek, a dude ranch staffed by cowboys so hot they dim the Montana sunset, all Kyla wants to do is hide under a quilt. Then in rides Decker Driscoll. He’s hauling about as much emotional baggage as Kyla, but when he stands close by, both of them want to stay close—and begin to succumb to an undeniable attraction.

After experiencing personal tragedy, Decker never thought he’d see Big Sky country again. But now that his family's Whisper Creek property is in deep with a Vegas gambler, Decker’s back for the summer—and spending all his time running from “cowgirls” who come to the dude ranch to score some dudes. Then he meets Kyla, a kindred spirit who brings on a stampede of protective feelings . . . and a powerful hankering to sear her with a new brand of love.

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as excerpts from these Loveswept titles: Blue Lines, Roman Holiday, andAfter the Kiss.

My Opinion  4 STARS
**Provided by Netgalley and A Loveswept Contemporary Romance for an honest review**

This book had me laughing and crying.

Kyla has really had a run of bad luck in the past year having had a horrific car crash, and finding out that her fiancé was already married and had cheated her, her grandparents and others out of their life savings.

The court case has just finished, her grandparents are dead and she suffers from panic attacks. Her two best friends have decided that she needs time away and have booked two weeks in Montana at a ranch. Totally forgetting that she is afraid of horses.

Decker has gone back home to help his now widowed mother and his brother to run he ranch for the summer. There he encounters Kyla and they are instantly drawn to each other.

They both have fears and the past to battle but have family and friends rooting for them behind the scenes.

Of course nothing goes smoothly. There is an ex-girlfriend who wont give up easily, the female guests interested in Decker and a series of mishaps that leaves poor Kyla injured.

Of course family and friends help them to see the error of their ways.

I honestly enjoyed the lightness in this book, but couldn't help but feel for Kyla. She had suffered a lot, but at least she had her friends behind her no matter what. Deckers brother Cole, his mother and Roscoe were also great characters.
