Beautifully Damaged - L.A. Fiore

The Book
Ember Walsh was always the quiet one, enjoying a book and a glass of wine over the noise and crowds of a club, but when her best friend asks her to come out and meet the boy she likes Ember's world is turned upside down. He appears like a mythical avenging angel, inked, gorgeous and completely out of her league but one look and Ember no longer wants the quiet, she wants him.

Trace Montgomery has buried his damaged past with women and fighting until one day he meets an angel and suddenly he wants more, he wants her. For her, he's determined to overcome his demons but will the dark secret that links their pasts bring them closer or will it tear them apart.

My Opinon  2 STARS
I liked this book but it could have been so much better.

It took the tortured souls a bit far though. I mean really? Both entwined with their families past since the death of her mother and his parents? Just doesn't seem plausible. Or I just see the lighter side of life.

I struggle to see how every man apart from Todd and Dane immediately seems to fall either in love with Ember or seems to be BFF's, and how come with her being oh so shy can she just get up and sing?

If she supposedly came out of herself at college, again the fact that she had no boyfriend made no sense what-so-ever.

I also wish that the author made better friends with the comma. Some sentences were hard to read as it seemed to go on-and-on. You wonder if she had any beta readers to help her out.

Even the sex scenes were more glossed over and were hard to relate to, or seemed to fizzle out half way through.

With some better editing and a better look at the relationship, this could be a really good book.
